All Major Bosses in Mewgenics — How to Beat Every Boss
Strategies and tips for defeating every major boss in Mewgenics Act 1, including Spinnerette, Dybbuk, and Guillotina.
Boss fights in Mewgenics are the ultimate test of your squad’s strength and your tactical planning. This guide covers all major bosses in Act 1, with strategies for defeating each one.
General Boss Fight Tips for Mewgenics
Before diving into specific bosses, here are some universal rules:
- Always bring a Cleric — boss fights are long, and you need sustained healing
- Prioritize adds (smaller enemies) first — they can overwhelm you if left unchecked
- Use tactical view to understand attack ranges and safe tiles
- Save your strongest abilities for key moments rather than using them immediately
- Position matters more than damage — a well-positioned squad takes less damage and deals more
Spinnerette — First Major Boss
Boss Stats
- HP: High health pool
- Key traits: Web attacks, summoning spiderlings, area denial
Attack Patterns
Spinnerette uses web-based attacks that can:
- Immobilize cats in web tiles, preventing movement
- Summon spiderlings as additional enemies each turn
- Lay web traps that slow movement and restrict positioning
Strategy to Beat Spinnerette
- Kill spiderlings immediately — they accumulate quickly and will swarm you
- Avoid web tiles — move around them rather than through them. Break web with attacks when possible
- Use AoE attacks (Mage, Druid) to clear spiderlings efficiently
- Position your Cleric safely in the back where Spinnerette can’t reach
- Focus DPS on Spinnerette once adds are cleared — her health pool is large but manageable with sustained damage
Recommended Team
- 1 Cleric (healing)
- 1 Mage (AoE for spiderlings)
- 1 Fighter or Butcher (boss damage)
- 1 Tank (frontline protection)
Dybbuk — Second Major Boss
Boss Stats
- HP: Moderate health pool
- Key traits: High evasion, teleportation, possession
Attack Patterns
Dybbuk is a frustrating fight due to its evasion mechanics:
- Teleports to different positions frequently
- High evasion makes many attacks miss
- Possession — can temporarily take control of one of your cats
- Ghostly form — immune to physical attacks during certain phases
Strategy to Beat Dybbuk
- Use magic-based attacks — they bypass evasion more reliably
- Spread your team out — Dybbuk’s AoE attacks are less effective against spread formations
- When a cat is possessed, focus on surviving until the effect wears off. Do NOT kill your own cat
- AoE is essential — since Dybbuk moves frequently, AoE spells catch it even after teleportation
- Use Psychic if available — mental attacks are particularly effective against this boss
Recommended Team
- 1 Cleric (healing)
- 2 Mages (magic DPS for evasion bypass)
- 1 Tank or Fighter (flexible depending on team strength)
Guillotina — Third Major Boss
Boss Stats
- HP: Very high health pool
- Key traits: Multi-phase fight, execution attacks, summons
Attack Patterns
Guillotina is the hardest Act 1 boss with a multi-phase fight:
Phase 1:
- Standard melee attacks with high damage
- Summons minions periodically
- Relatively straightforward — clear adds, damage boss
Phase 2 (triggered at ~50% HP):
- Gains execution attacks that can instantly kill cats below a certain HP threshold
- Attack speed increases
- Summons more powerful minions
Strategy to Beat Guillotina
- Save your strongest abilities for Phase 2 — don’t waste them in Phase 1
- Keep all cats above the execution threshold — Cleric must constantly heal. Execution instant-kills are devastating
- Clear Phase 2 minions quickly — they’re stronger than Phase 1 summons
- Use your Tank’s taunt to draw Guillotina’s attention away from squishier cats
- Position aggressively — Guillotina is slow enough that you can flank safely
- Bring extra Super Bandages and healing items as backup
Recommended Team
- 1 Cleric (absolutely essential)
- 1 Tank (taunt to protect the team)
- 1 Fighter (consistent DPS)
- 1 Butcher (burst damage for Phase 2)
Post-Boss Rewards in Mewgenics
After defeating each boss, you receive:
- Significant XP for all surviving cats
- Rare items and equipment
- Zone progression that unlocks new areas and collars
- NPC interaction opportunities for donations and upgrades
Don’t forget to search the boss arena thoroughly after the fight — boss rooms often contain hidden loot.
