Mewgenics Patch 0.1.2 — Balance Changes and Bug Fixes
The first major patch addresses class balance, breeding bugs, and quality of life improvements based on community feedback.
The Mewgenics team has released Patch 0.1.2, addressing several issues reported by the community during the first week of Early Access. Here’s everything that changed.
Class Balance Changes
- Fighter: Attack bonus reduced from +3 to +2 (was overperforming in early game)
- Druid: HP bonus increased from +1 to +2 (was underperforming across all metrics)
- Jester: Copycat ability now has a 1-turn cooldown (was enabling infinite-loop exploits)
- Necromancer: Summoned undead now inherit 50% of the Necromancer’s stats (up from 25%)
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a crash when breeding two cats with more than 5 mutations each
- Resolved an issue where Heatwave debuff persisted after leaving Desert zones
- Fixed incorrect turn order calculation when multiple cats had identical Speed
- Addressed a visual glitch where cat sprites would overlap during large battles
- Fixed Butch not recognizing zone progress from certain adventure paths
- Corrected furniture placement not properly updating home Comfort stats
Quality of Life
- Added a confirmation dialog when discarding quest items
- Improved ability description tooltips to show exact damage numbers
- Turn order bar now highlights the currently active unit more clearly
- Added colorblind mode options for difficulty badges and class indicators
Known Issues
The team is aware of and working on:
- Occasional frame drops in battles with 8+ units
- Rare breeding outcome that produces cats with no abilities
- UI scaling issues on ultrawide monitors
